Empire of Sweet Dreams
“Empire of Sweet Dreams” is the first 30 meters of a 70 meter wall between the new Bergen airport terminal, and Choice Comfort Hotel. The initial inspiration behind this work comes from Choice Hotels collaboration with UNICEF in an effort to protect children from human trafficking. The name of their collaboration is “Sweet Dreams”
The major compositions where sketched up with spray cans using a projector, then I worked with cans and brushes to build up the details.
The idea was to create something that could be appreciated closeup and from afar. From a distance, a superficial narrative can be sensed, but as you move closer more details come into view and elude to a deeper story that raises questions about our conventional understanding of the world.
